Electrical & Electronics Engineer

Role overview

This position focuses on evaluating products, verifying performance, and helping ensure reliability and quality. The engineer will work closely with different teams to investigate issues, identify failure causes, and contribute to product development and ongoing improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Run product evaluation and verification tests according to defined test procedures, then record the outcomes for later review and analysis.
• Investigate defective products and parts, trace failure causes, and suggest corrective actions based on findings.
• Review items from the Approved Vendor List (AVL), compare specifications, and help with value engineering and alternate sourcing decisions.
• Create, revise, and keep technical records up to date, including assembly drawings, parts drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Examine test results and use the findings to recommend improvements in product quality, performance, and reliability.
• Support prototype builds, sample production runs, and other development activities with technical inputs and documentation assistance.
• Work with cross-functional teams to solve technical problems and contribute to continuous product enhancement.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a closely related discipline is required.
• Practical exposure to product design and development, including work with microcontroller- or microprocessor-based systems, is expected.
• Hands-on experience in product testing, fault analysis, and use of testing equipment for troubleshooting is needed.
• Good understanding of electronic components, basic circuit principles, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics is important.
• Familiarity with mechanical control systems and communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, RS232, Parallel, USB, and SATA is required.
• Experience in BOM handling, component selection, or value engineering will be an advantage.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail are essential.
• The role requires someone who can work both independently and as part of a team across different functions.
• The candidate should be self-driven, able to meet deadlines, and open to working overtime when necessary.
