Ground Handler - RPT

Primary Objective

The main purpose of this position is to handle cargo safely and on schedule, including aircraft loading and unloading, while staying within all required operational and safety standards.

Key Duties

• Load and unload aircraft and trucks.
• Use and operate ground support equipment.
• Lift packages repeatedly, including items weighing up to 60 lbs.
• Separate parcels according to customer, destination airport, and other sorting rules.
• Share piece counts and shipment details with lead hands and supervisors.
• Treat all customer freight and parcels with care.
• Follow all safety and security rules at all times.
• Carry out general cleaning and housekeeping tasks as needed.
• Support dangerous goods handling and acceptance activities.
• Work with the team to meet tight freight build-up and breakdown deadlines.
• Complete required training modules such as WHMIS, SMS, Dangerous Goods, and Hazard Prevention.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Work daily in and around aircraft.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants should have completed high school or have equivalent experience. A valid Class 5 driver’s licence, or an equivalent licence, is required. Candidates must be able to obtain a RAIC pass for Transport Canada security clearance and be willing to undergo a background check. The role requires the ability to lift up to 60 lbs repeatedly, work in a team-first environment, meet time-sensitive goals, and adapt quickly to changing customer needs. Strong punctuality, reliable attendance, written and verbal communication skills, and a willingness to take direction and continue developing in the local operation are also important. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and statutory holidays is necessary, and candidates must be willing to work outdoors.
