Stamford Plaza Melbourne is seeking a hands-on and dependable Handyperson to join its Engineering team. What the job involves
This position supports the everyday upkeep of guest rooms, shared spaces, and back-of-house areas. You will assist the Engineering team by handling repair work, maintenance requests, and scheduled safety and maintenance activities.
- Carry out general repair work and preventative maintenance across the property.
- Help with plumbing, painting, electrical, and carpentry duties when needed.
- Respond quickly to maintenance issues and make sure they are followed through to completion.
- Support planned maintenance activities and safety inspections with the Engineering team.
- Help maintain strong standards of appearance, safety, and guest experience.
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate will bring practical maintenance experience, a responsible work style, and the confidence to work across different tasks in a busy hospitality setting.
- A trade qualification or hands-on general maintenance experience will be considered an advantage.
- Prior experience in a maintenance or handyperson position, ideally in hospitality or commercial properties.
- A positive, self-motivated approach with strong attention to detail.
- Comfort working independently as well as collaboratively with others.
- Good communication and time management abilities.
- Basic knowledge of workplace safety and maintenance practices.
- Willingness to work a rotating roster, including weekends where needed.
- Full legal working rights in Australia.
