Janitor

Role overview

We are looking for a Janitor to support routine cleaning and upkeep across assigned spaces within a building or across multiple client locations. This role involves general-purpose cleaning and preservation work, and the exact duties may vary based on client needs, so flexibility is important.

Schedule details for this full-time role include morning and evening shifts, Monday through Friday. The position pays $15.00 per hour and is paid weekly.

Key responsibilities

• Keep floors in good condition by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming as needed.
• Use cleaning chemicals and powered equipment correctly to avoid damaging surfaces or property.
• Service and maintain restrooms, meeting rooms, hallways, and entry areas.
• Collect and dispose of trash properly, including operating a compactor for some materials when required.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors with suitable products and tools.
• Perform spot-cleaning on carpets and support carpet extraction and shampooing work.
• Restock paper goods and hygiene supplies.
• Work according to the established housekeeping schedule.
• Use heavier cleaning equipment from time to time, such as floor scrubbers, backpack vacuums, and buffers.
• Handle additional tasks as needed based on the work scope or customer requirements.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required, or at least 6 months of experience in a janitorial role.
• Willingness to learn on the job through provided training.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions effectively.
• Prior experience in cleaning, janitorial work, industrial cleaning, or facilities maintenance is preferred.
• Familiarity with custodial routines and commercial cleaning standards is an advantage.
• Knowledge of floor care methods such as buffing and waxing is helpful.
