Role overview

The Junior Quantity Surveyor will support construction projects in Dubai by contributing to cost planning, measurement, and contract-related activities. This position suits someone who is detail-driven, analytical, and comfortable working closely with project teams, contractors, and site personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare quantity schedules and cost estimates for construction works.
• Measure quantities from drawings and technical specifications.
• Assist with tender documentation and contract administration tasks.
• Review contractor claims and variation submissions under guidance.
• Visit sites to check progress and confirm measured quantities.
• Keep project cost records, trackers, and reports up to date.
• Work alongside project managers, engineers, and contractors to support project delivery.
• Contribute ideas for cost reduction and value engineering opportunities.
• Help compile monthly progress updates and financial projections.
• Remain informed about Dubai building regulations and local code requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a similar discipline.
• 0 to 2 years of experience in quantity surveying or a closely related area.
• Ability to use quantity surveying tools such as CostX or Buildsoft.
• Strong numerical ability and analytical thinking.
• High attention to detail and solid organizational skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills.
• Basic understanding of construction methods and site processes.
• Awareness of local building codes and regulations in Dubai.
• Willingness to work across construction sites in Dubai and nearby areas.
• Professional certification such as APC is considered an added advantage.
