Role summary
The Lead Mechanical Engineer (Packages) will report to the Discipline Team Leader/Manager and the Project Manager, taking full responsibility for assigned mechanical engineering tasks within the project scope.
Key responsibilities
The role involves delivering mechanical engineering and design work across concept, FEED, and detailed engineering stages in line with the design basis, project requirements, client specifications, procedures, and applicable codes and standards.
The engineer will also prepare and review technical documents and engineering deliverables for packaged equipment, attend coordination and review meetings, and support technical clarifications with the client.

Package engineering scope
The position requires design work for packages in accordance with relevant international standards, including API 610, API 675, API 618, ISO 5199, and ASME Section VIII. Relevant package experience includes Vapour Recovery Units, DM plants, nitrogen generation systems, truck loading arms, air compressor packages, flare packages, wastewater treatment packages, clarifiers, and dosing skids.
Experience and client interface
The candidate should be comfortable participating in progress reviews, design reviews, and clarification meetings with clients. Prior exposure to QatarEnergy, Shell DEP, and tank terminal projects is considered an advantage.
Additional information
Professional Mechanical Engineering degree is required. A background of 15+ years in oil and gas with a major contractor or consultant is expected. Familiarity with design and analysis software is necessary. MMUP certification will be considered an added advantage.
