Role Summary
The Learning & Development Manager will partner closely with the Director of Learning & Talent Development to advance the organization’s learning strategy. This role supports functional, business, and professional development, technical training, onboarding, career progression, and compliance-related learning. The manager will also lead training sessions, meetings, and focus groups that strengthen employee growth and support broader strategic goals set by senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with relevant business and corporate leaders to plan, design, and deliver new and ongoing learning and development programs, including project coordination, registration, reporting, event logistics, materials handling, and facilitator scheduling.
- Create engaging learning content for both digital and classroom delivery, using tools and media such as facilitator guides, exercises, and job aids.
- Partner with internal teams to plan communications for learning initiatives, including messaging strategy, promotional content, and review coordination.
- Design and implement measurement methods as part of the learning strategy to track and report learning and development results.
- Manage the learning management system as a development platform, including content organization and processes across the employee lifecycle.
- Review existing learning and development workflows and improve program design, rollout plans, delivery methods, and overall effectiveness.
- Assist with both onsite and virtual training programs whenever needed.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in learning and development, talent management, onboarding, or a closely related area is required.
- Demonstrated strength in project management and change management, with experience building effective processes and handling several priorities at once.
- Excellent writing and interpersonal communication abilities, along with a strong focus on customer service and active participation.
- Ability to use available tools and technology creatively to deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Strong analytical thinking and a proactive approach to solving problems, including experience applying change management methods.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook, plus flexibility in learning new technologies.
- Experience with learning management systems and e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate 360 or similar is preferred.
- Professional certifications in assessment tools such as MBTI, DISC, Hogan, HBDI, or equivalent are preferred.
Salary Information
If the position is based in New York City, the annual salary range is $150,000 to $160,000.
