Role overview
This position focuses on managing and improving customs-related logistics operations across Europe, with a particular emphasis on issue handling, escalation, coordination with customs teams, and process enhancement.
Key responsibilities
You will manage customs declaration issues for both B2B and B2C flows, coordinate with internal customs specialists, and support the implementation of solutions across European markets.
- Review and classify customs issues reported by agents for B2B import declarations involving shipments from non-EU countries into the EU, as well as from Poland to the UK.
- Apply existing procedures for cases already covered by SOPs, and escalate unresolved matters to the domestic customs team without delay.
- Carry out the corrective actions and solutions shared by the domestic customs team.
- Review and classify customs issues raised by customs brokers for B2C import declarations, following SOPs where applicable.
- Escalate cases outside established procedures to the domestic customs team promptly, and ensure the agreed solutions are executed.
- Gather and share local customs regulations, reference materials, and other relevant inputs as requested by the domestic customs department.
- Coordinate communication with European customs authorities and customs brokers when needed, and support the delivery and implementation of resolutions.
- Flag upcoming risks, unusual situations, and potential issues early to the domestic customs team based on local European market conditions.
- Document, organize, and standardize European customs operations, while continuously refining and improving customs SOPs.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in European cross-border e-commerce customs operations, with solid knowledge and practical understanding of applicable customs rules.
- At least 3 years of experience in European traditional general trade customs operations, including strong familiarity with European import customs rules and exception handling.
- Strong analytical ability to identify issues quickly and recommend practical, effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills for working both internally and externally, including coordination with teams, service providers, and customs authorities to build alignment.
- A pragmatic, diligent, and outcome-focused work style.
