Role overview
Our client, a major provider of maintenance, repair and overhaul products and services, is seeking a Maintenance Planning Lead for its customer site in Carrigaline, Cork. The role is central to creating a disciplined, efficient, and dependable maintenance process. It focuses on ensuring maintenance tasks are prepared properly and that spare parts are controlled, available, and matched to planned work. This position also supports the development of a strong reliability culture within a new and rapidly expanding environment.
Maintenance planning
- Organize and sequence preventive and corrective maintenance work orders within the CMMS (SAP).
- Prepare detailed job plans covering labour, materials, tools, and safety needs.
- Work with operations and maintenance teams to schedule tasks in a way that limits disruption to production.
- Assess preventive maintenance approaches and refine them using feedback and performance information.
- Make sure work orders contain complete documentation, including accurate asset and cost details.
Spare parts and inventory control
- Oversee the maintenance storeroom so essential spare parts are easy to find and retrieve.
- Identify, record, and standardize spare components for newly installed equipment.
- Handle spare parts purchasing through the MRP system.
- Keep inventory records accurate, carry out regular cycle counts, and assist with physical stock audits.
- Track and report obsolete, slow-moving, and critical parts to help optimize inventory spend.
Qualifications and skills
- A technical diploma or degree in maintenance, engineering, or a similar discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in maintenance planning, parts coordination, or storeroom management.
- Hands-on experience using SAP or another CMMS/ERP platform.
- Good knowledge of maintenance workflows, reliability concepts, and materials management.
- Strong organization, analysis, and attention-to-detail capabilities.
