Maintenance Supervisor

Job purpose

The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee an internal technician crew and third-party service providers to keep restaurants, commissaries, and head/regional offices operating to a high global standard. The role covers MEP, routine and corrective maintenance, branding, compliance, health and safety, and overall site upkeep. This person will act as the main contact for the regional operations team, ensuring strong service delivery and SLA achievement. They will also take over newly opened restaurants from the construction team according to head-office standards and ensure those standards are maintained.

Key responsibilities

• Handle reactive maintenance requests and planned preventive maintenance work, making sure technicians and vendors meet the required response times, SLAs, KPIs, and compliance standards.
• Serve as the primary contact for operations stakeholders and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners during restaurant operating hours.
• Prepare and deliver the annual Capex plan end to end for the assigned area of responsibility, including technical reviews, RFP support, execution follow-up, and reporting.
• Manage monthly and yearly Opex budgets carefully, avoid unnecessary overspending, and reduce vendor dependency by resolving issues through the in-house team whenever possible.
• Recommend major repair or modification needs when needed and ensure spare parts are only replaced when truly required.
• Support sustainability and energy-saving initiatives such as IoT projects, digital thermostats, water and gas monitoring, and solar panel implementation.
• Lead and coordinate the maintenance team and external vendors, including shift planning, priority setting, and arranging training through internal and external trainers.
• Continuously improve technical capability and work efficiency by learning new skills, using digital tools, and managing work orders more effectively.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline is required.
• Applicants should have 5 to 7 years of overall experience in restaurant maintenance.
• Hands-on supervisory experience with kitchen equipment and MEP systems is essential.
• Strong familiarity with the Qatar market, including authority regulations and mall/landlord requirements, is needed.
• Good working knowledge of field management systems, MS Office, CAFM software, and IoT-based applications is expected.
• Strong communication skills in English are required; Arabic fluency will be an advantage.
• A valid Qatar driving licence is required.

This role involves coordinating both internal teams and external vendors to maintain operating standards across multiple locations. The supervisor is expected to support operational continuity, uphold service quality, and keep sites aligned with corporate standards after handover from construction.
