Role summary
This role leads public relations and marketing communications across internal and external channels. It also drives marketing strategy execution to support sales activity and grow revenue for the business.
Key responsibilities
- Build the marketing strategy and set the marketing budget.
- Keep marketing spending efficient and aligned to approved budgets.
- Support revenue growth by contributing incremental business through marketing-led activity.
- Create and run short-term and long-term marketing plans to support profitability and expansion of products and services.
- Shape and consistently communicate the company’s desired image and market position both inside and outside the organization.
- Develop strong brand messaging and integrated communications across campaigns, promotions, and other marketing channels.
- Oversee public relations and marketing communications activities.
- Plan, coordinate, and communicate marketing events.
- Lead assigned projects, including cause-related campaigns and special events.
- Own brand management and corporate identity standards in line with the brand manual.
- Ensure relevant market research is carried out regularly and used to track trends.
- Develop tools, resources, and support material that help departments market and position their activities effectively.
- Make sure internal and external communication materials are produced on time, including scripts, articles, and newsletters.
- Review and approve marketing content such as adverts, email campaigns, flyers, billboards, and radio scripts.
- Track marketing performance and take corrective action where needed to stay within budget and achieve objectives.
- Coordinate marketing campaign delivery with sales initiatives.
- Develop a customer retention plan aligned with Sales and Customer Experience.
- Recommend retention schemes, incentives, and other strategies that reduce churn and improve loyalty.
- Ensure retention messages reach customers through existing communication channels.
Decision-making scope
- Approve marketing actions in line with the agreed marketing plan.
- Align marketing initiatives with budget requirements.
- Make decisions on departmental resourcing.
- Lead the planning, development, and implementation of the organization’s marketing strategy.
Qualifications and experience
- A first degree in Marketing or Business is required.
- A master’s degree is also required.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in marketing or advertising.
- Strong written and spoken communication abilities.
Knowledge and capability requirements
- Proven experience in marketing, communications, and public relations planning and execution.
- Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational, and sales-related skills.
- Experience managing budgets and handling hiring, training, coaching, supervision, and performance review of staff.
- Ability to think creatively and introduce new ideas.
- Strong budget control and financial planning capability.
- Ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and anticipate market trends and challenges.
- Strong research and analytical capability.
- Exposure to current trends, tools, and methods in graphic design and production.
- Sound professional judgement and discretion.
- Ability to guide, manage, and develop team members.
