Role Overview

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a caring and motivated Housekeeper to support a female surgical ward in Burton Upon Trent. This position plays an important part in keeping the ward clean, secure, and comfortable for patients, visitors, and colleagues.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Keeping wards and clinical spaces clean to a consistently high standard.
  • Supporting infection control by following NHS-approved cleaning procedures.
  • Working alongside clinical staff to help maintain a safe and pleasant patient environment.
  • Offering a welcoming, reassuring presence to patients and their families.
  • Coordinating patient facilities services within the ward area as part of the clinical team.
  • Making sure ward quality standards are upheld at all times.
  • Monitoring stock levels and ensuring the ward has enough supplies.
  • Ensuring meals reach patients on time and that individual dietary or care needs are met.
  • Checking that the ward environment remains tidy, safe, and well maintained.
