Role overview
This is a full-time community-based Occupational Therapist position for someone who is enthusiastic about delivering practical, individualised therapy. The role involves supporting children and adults with varied needs and helping them participate more fully in everyday activities through tailored intervention plans.
Key duties
You will assess clients in natural settings, design therapy and rehabilitation programs suited to each person, and provide ongoing support that promotes functional independence and progress toward goals. The position also requires close coordination with families, clients, and other healthcare professionals to maintain consistent and effective care.
Professional expectations
Accurate recordkeeping is an important part of the role, including documentation and progress notes that align with NDIS requirements and professional standards. You will also need to adjust therapy approaches to suit different environments and the specific needs of each client.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant is a qualified Occupational Therapist with active AHPRA registration and solid knowledge of occupational therapy practice and rehabilitation methods. Experience with the NDIS is considered an advantage, and prior exposure to pediatric therapy is desirable. Strong communication skills, the ability to work independently in the community, and access to a valid driver’s licence and reliable transport are all important. Additional experience in assistive technology or mental health would be beneficial.
