Personal Care Assistant

Role overview

Vancrest Health Care Centers is looking for a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to join its team in St. Marys, Georgia. This role supports resident well-being in a caring environment where the focus is on comfort, dignity, and high-quality service.

Pay and hiring details

Starting pay begins at $15 per hour and may increase based on experience at the discretion of the hiring manager. Candidates working a Weekend Warrior schedule may qualify for higher compensation.

There is also a sign-on bonus available: $4,000 for full-time hires and $2,000 for part-time hires.

Primary duties

• Support residents with personal care needs, making sure service is delivered with compassion, quality, and punctuality.
• Help address medical needs by providing appropriate nursing care and updating the charge nurse when needed.
• Keep the work environment clean, safe, and comfortable for residents and staff.
• Ensure residents receive proper nutrition according to their care plans and communicate concerns to the appropriate director.
• Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
• Make sure resident medication needs are met.

Requirements

• Ability to move intermittently during the shift, including sitting, standing, bending, and lifting.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move at least 50 pounds.
• Capability to help evacuate residents when necessary.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
• STNA certification is not mandatory, though it is preferred.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
