Role overview
Danone is looking for a senior plant leader to guide its Auckland manufacturing operation into its next stage of growth, improvement, and transformation. In this position, you will help set the site direction, strengthen leadership capability, and foster a culture built on accountability, safety, and high performance.
The role carries responsibility for delivering strong manufacturing results, improving operational effectiveness, and supporting an engaged workforce that reflects Danone’s purpose of One Planet. One Health.
Key responsibilities
- Direct overall site performance, long-term direction, and transformation activity.
- Establish and reinforce a culture that puts safety first and quality at the centre.
- Apply Danone’s manufacturing standards and meet efficiency expectations.
- Improve productivity and control manufacturing costs.
- Grow, mentor, and strengthen the future plant leadership team.
- Embed coaching-based leadership, high performance, and succession planning practices.
- Manage operational planning, financial budgets, and capital spending.
- Work closely with internal teams, regional partners, and outside stakeholders.
- Promote manufacturing excellence and modern digital working practices.
- Protect food safety, product quality, regulatory compliance, and public confidence.
About you
You are a manufacturing leader who is guided by values and who performs well in complex, fast-changing settings. You enjoy building capable teams, reliable systems, and inclusive workplaces. Your style combines strategic thinking with visible, practical leadership, and you are motivated by continuous improvement, people development, and lasting change that delivers real outcomes.
To succeed in this role, you should bring senior experience across manufacturing, operations, or supply chain settings, along with a strong background in large-scale operational or cultural change. You will also need deep knowledge of safety, quality, food manufacturing, and continuous improvement approaches, plus experience handling sizeable budgets, productivity goals, and capital projects. The ability to bring together different stakeholders and align teams around common objectives is essential.
A relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, operations, or supply chain is preferred.
Leadership in this role is expected to be grounded in integrity, curiosity, and courage, while creating an environment where people feel secure to contribute ideas, challenge constructively, and develop.
