Role Overview

As a Product Engineer, you will help build Sieve’s video collection platform, which compensates contributors for submitting video recordings. The role spans frontend, backend, systems, and mobile work, with a strong emphasis on shipping quickly, improving reliability, and scaling the platform to serve millions of users. You will also create internal tools that support sourcing, reviewing, and delivering high-quality data efficiently, while owning projects from start to finish.

This position is best suited for someone who likes rapid iteration, takes strong ownership, and wants to work directly on the core infrastructure behind frontier video AI.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and expand a production platform used by contributors, partners, and internal teams.
• Deliver end-to-end features across the frontend, backend APIs, and supporting systems.
• Create mobile functionality that makes video capture and submission simple.
• Strengthen product reliability, runtime performance, and developer productivity.
• Design internal workflows and tools that keep operations, QA, and delivery efficient and consistent.
• Collaborate closely with customers and operators to turn needs into working product improvements through iterative delivery.

Requirements

• Proven ability to handle full-stack projects from concept through production launch.
• Strong experience with TypeScript and modern frontend development, preferably using React and Next.js.
• Hands-on mobile development experience with React Native, especially for media capture or upload journeys.
• Backend development background in Python or Go, along with solid knowledge of APIs and databases.
• Comfort working on both product-facing and systems-level concerns such as reliability, performance, and observability.
• Strong communication skills and experience working with cross-functional stakeholders.
• High sense of ownership and urgency, including readiness to work late nights and weekends when required.
• Must be based in or able to work in person at the San Francisco HQ.
• Additional advantages include startup experience as an early hire, a track record of shipping polished products to real users, building lightweight tooling such as internal APIs or Svelte dashboards, and maintaining active GitHub or portfolio projects.

Additional Information
