About the opportunity
An experienced Project Manager is needed to take ownership of Project Atlas, a strategic transformation initiative centred on core system migration within Miramar's commercial underwriting business. The role is critical to business change, vendor coordination, stakeholder engagement, and the shift to new technology platforms and operating practices. You will work with senior leaders, technology teams, external suppliers, and the Enterprise PMO to deliver complex programs that support growth, operational performance, and business results.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the full delivery lifecycle of the Miramar platform migration program, covering planning, governance, requirements, implementation, change activity, and handover into business-as-usual operations.
- Track and control scope, schedules, budgets, risks, issues, dependencies, and status reporting to keep the program on course.
- Develop productive working relationships with executive sponsors, business stakeholders, technology partners, and external vendors to maintain alignment and delivery momentum.
- Create and implement change, communication, training, and adoption plans that prepare the business for launch and support successful uptake.
- Support strong governance, informed decision-making, and ongoing delivery improvements while remaining aligned with enterprise project management standards.
Skills and qualifications
- Background in leading large and complex technology migration or transformation initiatives, preferably in insurance, financial services, fintech, or similar sectors.
- Strong capability in stakeholder engagement, including collaboration with senior executives, business leaders, and third-party technology providers.
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple workstreams, manage budgets, address risks and dependencies, and lead cross-functional teams in complex environments.
- Working knowledge of Agile, hybrid, and traditional delivery approaches, with certifications such as PRINCE2, PMBOK, or Agile credentials viewed favourably.
- Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills, along with hands-on use of project tools such as Jira, Confluence, and MS Project or equivalent systems.
Benefits
- Hybrid working arrangements to support balance between office and home life.
- Opportunities for career growth and professional development through training, mentorship, and tuition reimbursement, plus ANZIIF partnership support for accreditation and qualifications.
- Complimentary company-provided Life, Temporary Permanent Disablement, Salary Continuance, and Travel insurance, along with access to discounted insurance options.
- A strong health and wellbeing offering including free annual health checks, free annual skin checks, flu vaccinations, holistic support and advice, and confidential counselling.
- A lively, collaborative workplace where individual contribution is recognised and valued.
