Role Overview
Barrel One Collective is seeking a seasoned Senior Controller to join its finance leadership group in a high-impact, hands-on position. This role is ideal for an accounting and finance professional who enjoys working in fast-moving operational settings and contributing to the financial strength of a growing craft beverage, hospitality, and manufacturing business.
The position works closely with executive leaders and operational teams across brewery, hospitality, retail, manufacturing, and distribution functions to strengthen controls, improve reporting quality, increase business visibility, and support long-term financial stability.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and present them to leadership.
- Review financial results through budget-to-actual analysis and operational variance tracking.
- Provide accurate financial insights that support executive decision-making.
- Assist with long-term planning, forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow oversight.
- Manage liquidity reporting and maintain banking relationships.
- Work closely with leaders in hospitality, manufacturing, retail, and operations to align finance with business goals.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline processes.
- Build and monitor department-level budgets and financial performance measures.
- Support growth initiatives, capital projects, and broader operational planning.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP and internal control standards.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, banks, and insurance partners.
- Support tax planning, audit preparation, and employee benefits audit coordination.
- Confirm compliance with insurance coverage needs, including liability, workers compensation, and cyber policies.
- Review contracts and agreements with attention to financial and risk considerations.
- Oversee ERP and financial reporting systems and look for opportunities to improve them.
- Help advance automation, reporting enhancements, and system integrations.
- Use ERP/MRP tools to strengthen inventory management, cost accounting, and financial visibility.
- Supervise, coach, and support accounting team members.
- Promote a collaborative, accountable, and solution-oriented finance team culture.
- Improve workflows, reporting speed, and communication across functions.
- Lead with professionalism, urgency, precision, and flexibility.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- At least 5–7+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance leadership.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
- Experience handling audits, tax coordination, and external financial relationships.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong command of financial systems.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- CPA certification, or progress toward CPA, is strongly preferred.
- Background in manufacturing, beverage, brewery, hospitality, consumer products, or distribution is highly preferred.
- Cost accounting and inventory accounting experience are strongly preferred.
- Experience with ERP/MRP platforms such as Deacom, SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, or comparable systems is preferred.
- Experience supporting multi-location operations is preferred.
- Interest in craft beer, hospitality, and entrepreneurial businesses is an added advantage.
