Role Overview
This Darwin-based position is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and delivery of fit-out and finishes packages on complex construction projects. The role is aimed at ensuring technical accuracy, programme certainty, and commercial control across the project lifecycle.
What You Need to Bring
- A tertiary qualification in Construction, Engineering, or a closely related field.
- At least 5 years of experience managing fit-out and finishes work on commercial or residential projects valued at $10M or more.
- Strong technical ability, including reading drawings, interpreting specifications, and solving design-related issues.
- Hands-on experience coordinating subcontractors, schedules, and site delivery activities.
- A solid grasp of construction methods, sequencing, and buildability considerations.
- Working knowledge of safety, quality, and compliance requirements in construction settings.
- Commercial understanding of variations, cost implications, and scope control.
- Strong organisation, documentation, and reporting skills with a close eye for detail.
- Confident communication skills for working with consultants, site teams, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate fit-out and finishes packages from procurement through to final delivery.
- Track programme performance and take corrective action when delays arise.
- Review drawings, specifications, and material schedules, and work with consultants to resolve coordination issues.
- Manage subcontractors to ensure alignment with programme, quality, and safety expectations.
- Support procurement activities by defining scope, engaging subcontractors, and sequencing package delivery.
- Identify and manage variations while keeping stakeholders informed of commercial impacts.
- Check installation quality against design intent, specifications, and company standards.
- Drive defect identification and close-out across finishes works.
- Ensure delivery complies with building codes, project specifications, and safety systems.
- Carry out site inspections and audits to maintain strong safety and quality performance.
- Keep project records, reporting, and package tracking accurate and up to date.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, and consultants to resolve issues and maintain progress.
- Develop strong working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Support a high-performing site culture and represent DCOH professionally and with commercial focus.
