Role overview
An established commodities trading business is looking for a careful, proactive Settlement Analyst to support the accurate and prompt settlement of physical and financial commodity trades.
What you will do
- Oversee invoice creation, circulation, matching, and settlement across physical and financial trading transactions.
- Check that pricing, invoice timing, and due-date calculations comply with the relevant contract terms.
- Process trade settlements accurately and on time, including reconciliation work and resolution of settlement issues.
- Work with internal teams and outside counterparts to investigate and close invoicing mismatches.
- Prepare, examine, and validate invoices together with supporting documents, ensuring they meet trade contract conditions and Letter of Credit requirements.
- Look for ways to streamline settlement workflows and contribute to special projects or operational tasks when needed.
- Follow internal control procedures as well as applicable tax, sanctions, and AML requirements.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of settlement experience in the commodities trading sector.
- Solid understanding of commodities trading operations and settlement workflows.
- Effective written and verbal communication, plus strong people skills.
- Highly attentive to detail and comfortable working in a busy, fast-moving environment.
