Role overview
The Store Manager is responsible for the smooth running of day-to-day store activities, delivering an excellent customer journey, keeping store presentation and standards at the expected level, meeting financial goals, and sharing customer and product feedback with the relevant teams. The position calls for strong leadership, solid organization, and a good grasp of the fashion retail environment.
Financial performance
- Lead the store team toward achieving sales targets and key performance indicators.
- Keep store shrinkage below 0.2% of cost of sales.
- Manage store expenses, budgets, and financial objectives responsibly.
Operations and process
- Carry out routine financial checks and stock audits.
- Keep the store dashboard updated and communicate it regularly.
- Maintain visual merchandising standards across the store.
- Handle employee records, including leave tracking, passport details, performance history, conduct records, and roster planning.
- Supervise opening, closing, and other daily operational routines.
- Track sales results, review KPI performance, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Run regular team meetings to share goals, expectations, and constructive feedback.
- Apply company policies and procedures consistently to ensure compliance.
- Share regular updates with senior management on store performance, issues, and growth opportunities.
- Create and execute action plans based on performance data.
- Oversee back-store operations and merchandise replenishment.
- Put security practices in place to reduce theft and protect customers and employees.
- Recruit, train, and develop a strong sales team.
Customer focus
- Guide the team to meet club apparel, NPS, and DSES targets.
- Maintain a professional working relationship with mall management.
- Coordinate with the office back-end team on store-related matters.
- Respond to customer questions and concerns quickly and professionally.
- Manage employee performance and conduct with a people-focused approach.
Learning and team development
- Continuously build your own capability while preparing future store managers.
- Identify learning gaps within the team and set up ways to close them.
- Deliver onboarding training for new joiners and ongoing product knowledge sessions.
Experience profile
The role is best suited to someone with more than 5 years of progressive experience in a customer-facing retail environment, along with proven people management, leadership, and problem-solving ability. A track record of improving customer engagement and surpassing store sales KPI targets is expected. A bachelor's degree in business administration, retail management, or a related discipline is preferred.
