Support Mechanical - Casting

Role OverviewThis position is focused on keeping mechanical systems in the casting-related plant areas running reliably and safely. The role covers routine inspections, maintenance execution, spare parts readiness, coordination with teams, cost control, system compliance, and strong safety and sustainability practices across the shop floor.Maintenance, Improvements & ReliabilityCarry out regular inspection rounds across the plant areas, including Extrusion, Post-Extrusion, Die Shop, Die Service, and Powder Coating, to spot wear, damage, and malfunction early, and use CLIT, self-maintenance, and troubleshooting practices to reduce abnormalities and equipment downtime.Help maintain full equipment readiness by monitoring, coordinating, and tracking preventive, shutdown, and corrective maintenance activities in the assigned sections.Contribute to building a robust maintenance management system and use it to measure, monitor, and control key maintenance indicators, with a reliability-centered maintenance approach.Study maintenance workflows, identify improvement opportunities, and work to reduce unplanned delays and breakdown-related stoppages.Discuss recurring issues with the department team and colleagues and support closure of chronic problems.Review major and minor breakdowns and help plan suitable corrective actions.Spares ManagementApply the 7-level critical spare criteria and work to keep more than 95% availability of critical spares so breakdown delays can be avoided.Support regular overhauling of maintenance spares and keep them ready for use.Plan spares for major shutdown jobs as well as day-to-day maintenance requirements.Arrange advance procurement of good-quality tools and tackles to speed up job execution.Manpower ManagementTrain team members on correct equipment usage and maintenance methods.Work with production, engineering, and other departments to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption.Coordinate effectively with crew members to ensure job completion.Cost ControlIdentify opportunities to reduce maintenance costs.Minimize leaks and wastage.Manage maintenance expenditure, including spares, equipment upgrades, and external services within the P&B budget.Use outsourcing for maintenance tasks when necessary.Systems & AuditsImplement improvement projects that reduce repeated issues, breakdowns, and losses.Submit Kaizen, OPL, Good to Fine, and system-related suggestions on time.Help build and sustain the model area in the assigned sections.Take an active part in daily meetings and share ideas on new technology, innovation, and productivity improvements; also help build awareness across the lower-level workforce.Understand IMS and related system requirements and keep records ready for non-conformance situations during internal or external audits and assessments.Implement SOPs for critical spares and consumables without deviation.Follow the 7 lead indicators and close work orders within the required time.Safety, Health, Environment & SustainabilityEnsure complete compliance with safety standards and all applicable safety recommendations in the area.Train the team to understand job responsibilities, associated hazards, and required control measures, and to escalate issues to seniors when needed.Conduct scheduled safety rounds on time and report accidents, incidents, and near misses through the system.Carry out daily toolbox talks as scheduled and before critical jobs, along with SWP requirements.Participate actively in safety training, safety sub-committees, standard champions meetings, and safety events.Maintain good housekeeping, reduce electricity use, and prevent leakage of water, oil, and air; report abnormalities for corrective action.Follow all safety precautions both on-site and off-site.Promote sustainability practices, protect natural resources, and spread awareness among workers for long-term environmental care.Additional InformationNo stipend or salary amount was mentioned in the source.
