Al Dana Switchgear, part of the RAK Holding Group, is a major electrical manufacturing business in Qatar. The company focuses on low-voltage switchgear, transformers, and power distribution systems, and is now expanding its transformer manufacturing capability.

Role Overview

This opportunity is for a seasoned Transformer Design Manager / Engineer who can handle the design of oil-filled distribution transformers up to 4 MVA, 11kV/433V, 50Hz. The role is central to product development, engineering refinement, and improving existing designs.

Key Responsibilities

The selected professional will design the main active components of transformers, including core and winding assemblies. The position also involves designing tanks, radiators, conservators, and related accessories, along with preparing engineering calculations, technical drawings, and bills of materials. The role requires ensuring that all designs meet IEC 60076 and other relevant international requirements. You will work closely with production and quality teams during manufacturing, support testing and commissioning activities, respond to customer technical needs, and contribute to design enhancements and cost-reduction efforts.

Qualifications and Experience

A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required. Candidates should bring at least 10 years of experience in transformer design, including proven work on transformers up to 4 MVA. Strong familiarity with transformer design software and manufacturing workflows is also expected.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is QAR 13,000 to QAR 15,000 per month, depending on qualifications and relevant experience.
