The Warehouse Operations Manager will report to the Director of Operations and oversee the everyday running of the warehouse. The role is responsible for delivering strong operational results, meeting customer expectations, and staying within budget in a 24/7 single-client setting.

As the main contact for the customer, this leader will handle ongoing communication, address issues as they arise, and ensure service standards remain high in a demanding, fast-moving environment.

This position offers the chance to help launch and shape a new operation. The successful candidate will build processes, influence operating design, and take part in recruiting and developing the team. It calls for a practical, self-motivated manager who can work independently while also coordinating closely with on-site transportation teams in a shared facility.

The warehouse is a smaller site of about 16,000 to 17,000 square feet with roughly 20 team members working across multiple shifts.

Location and schedule

Location: Rocky View, Alberta. The schedule may change as needed, with Monday to Friday hours and more than 40 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the customer’s day-to-day contact, handling communication, resolving problems, and supporting strong customer satisfaction.
  • Guide, coach, and develop supervisors and warehouse employees across a 24/7 operation.
  • Help launch and continuously improve the operation by creating workflows, procedures, and practical best practices.
  • Take part in hiring, onboarding, and team structure planning, including helping choose supervisory staff.
  • Plan labour, manage schedules, and monitor performance to meet operational and financial goals.

  • Work with transportation and terminal teams on site to keep operations aligned within a shared facility.
  • Manage daily warehouse functions such as receiving, sorting, staging, and shipping returned pallets, totes, and other reverse-logistics items.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, safety expectations, and applicable regulations.
  • Oversee inventory control and accuracy in a mostly manual environment that will gradually shift toward system-enabled processes.
  • Contribute to the future rollout and improvement of a Warehouse Management System.
  • Handle budget-related responsibilities, including labour, supplies, and operating costs, to support P&L targets.
