Role overview
The Accounting Supervisor role sits within the PDS Business Unit and reports to the Senior Finance Manager. The position is based at the PDS India Technical Center (IPEC) in Bengaluru and supports accounting operations for the Europe region across accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger activities.
This role works as a coordination point between the Indian shared services team and the European Finance team to help ensure financial transactions are completed accurately, on time, and in line with IFRS as well as relevant local European GAAP requirements.
What you will do
- Oversee accounting support for the Europe region within the PDS Business Unit, with a focus on AR, AP, and GL processing.
- Serve as the link between the India SSC team and European Finance stakeholders so finance activities stay aligned.
- Check that financial entries and reporting follow IFRS and applicable local European GAAP standards.
- Handle a fast-moving, complex work environment and manage varied assignments with a steady, objective approach.
- Look for ways to improve processes and strengthen collaboration across teams.
- Support internal business partners with a constructive, solutions-focused style and provide useful finance inputs.
- Help improve cash flow performance by managing Days Payable Outstanding (DPO) and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing for European PDS entities.
- Support the Europe Finance team during external and internal audit work.
- Monitor business controls on an ongoing basis to help ensure BW policies and financial targets are achieved.
- Prepare analyses and reports, and share insights with the EU Finance Controller.
- Take on additional projects and special assignments when needed.
Education and experience
A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required. The role calls for 9 to 13 years of experience, with 7+ years in a related field showing increasing responsibility. A master’s degree is considered an advantage, and CA or CMA qualifications are also a plus.
Required capabilities
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting processes.
- Hands-on experience with SAP general ledger activities.
- Exposure to ONESTREAM is beneficial.
- Solid understanding of business controls and compliance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to assess and implement business process improvements.
- Comfort working on multiple assignments and adapting to new responsibilities.
