Role Overview
This contract Administrative Coordinator role is based in Vernon, British Columbia, and is set up as an onsite position. The assignment runs for 6 months, with the possibility of being extended. The position supports procurement activities and field operations for a major infrastructure-focused organization. It is well suited to someone who is highly organized, accurate, and comfortable helping operational teams in a busy, fast-moving setting.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver day-to-day administrative assistance to operational, construction, and field-based teams.
- Help handle procurement tasks, purchase requests, and related paperwork.
- Keep records, reports, and project files organized and up to date.
- Assist with scheduling, tracking, and communication between office staff and field personnel.
- Support data entry, document control, and general office administration tasks.
- Work with internal teams and external suppliers as needed.
- Maintain information so it remains accurate, orderly, and aligned with company procedures.
- Contribute to smooth operational workflows and efficient project delivery.
What We’re Looking For
- Prior experience in an administrative role within a professional setting.
- Background in procurement support or purchasing administration.
- Experience assisting construction teams, field operations, or project-based groups.
- Strong planning, prioritization, and time-management abilities.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills, plus a professional approach with others.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office tools.
- Ability to juggle several priorities while staying effective in a team environment.
- Careful attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Preferred Background
- Exposure to SAP or working knowledge of the system.
- Experience in utilities, infrastructure, construction, or industrial environments.
- Experience supporting teams that operate in the field rather than solely from an office.
