Role overview
Convergent Energy and Power develops cleaner, more dependable, and more cost-effective electric grid solutions by using advanced energy storage and distributed generation technologies. The Analyst, Analytics will support the assessment of energy storage opportunities for utilities and end users across target markets, helping ensure projects are financially sound and competitively structured. The role also supports finance and capital markets work by building debt and tax equity models that aid financing efforts. This position directly contributes to project economics and portfolio growth by partnering with Project Development and Sales teams.
This is an individual contributor position with no direct reports.
Work arrangement
This role follows a hybrid schedule, with 2 to 3 days each week spent in the Midtown New York City office.
Work authorization

What you'll handle
- Build, review, and maintain financial models to assess the viability of energy storage and solar-plus-storage projects.
- Assist with debt and tax equity transactions through modeling and supporting due diligence.
- Update core modeling templates and tools to improve consistency, speed, and accuracy.
- Provide Business Development and Project Development teams with reliable financial and operating data for decision-making.
- Conduct market research on tariffs, regulations, and industry trends, then share clear takeaways with internal stakeholders.
- Support process improvements and contribute to additional ad hoc assignments as needed.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should bring a quantitative mindset, strong accuracy, and the ability to work well across teams in a fast-moving environment.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, STEM, or another quantitative discipline.
- 1 to 3 relevant internships.
- Beginner-level Microsoft Excel skills for financial modeling.
- Basic knowledge of discounted cash flow analysis and general financial concepts.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize priorities and deliver on deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to manage assigned work proactively.

- About 8% travel for team events, company meetings, and occasional site visits.
- Preferred: 1 to 2 years of professional experience.
- Preferred: experience with energy markets, including storage and renewable energy projects.
- Preferred: hands-on financial modeling and DCF analysis experience.
- Preferred: intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills for financial modeling.
- Preferred: ability to work with large datasets.
- Preferred: familiarity with analytical or statistical tools such as Python or R.

Compensation
The base pay range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000 per year, with final pay determined by qualifications and experience.
