Tata Consultancy Services is hiring an Application Packaging professional for its Chennai location. This is a walk-in opportunity for candidates with deep experience in packaging, deployment, and endpoint application management.

Walk-in instructions

Experience required

This position is intended for professionals with 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.

What the role involves

Build and repackage desktop applications into MSI and MSIX formats.
Create Chocolatey packages in .nupkg format and handle their deployment.
Deploy software through SCCM/MECM, Microsoft Intune, and Chocolatey.
Analyze vendor installers and convert them into silent installation packages.
Troubleshoot failures related to SCCM, Intune, and Chocolatey deployments.
Support application testing across UAT, pre-production, and production environments.
Work on application upgrades and patching activities.
Automate packaging and deployment work using PowerShell.
Document procedures, runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.
Track deployment progress, ensure SLA compliance, and share status reports.
Coordinate with L3 support teams for complex or unresolved incidents.
Manage ServiceNow requests, incidents, and change records, including ADO cards where applicable.

Skills and technical expectations

Practical experience in MSI, MSIX, and EXE repackaging.
Strong working knowledge of SCCM/MECM for deployment and troubleshooting.
Hands-on exposure to Microsoft Intune, including Win32 apps and MSIX deployment.
Experience creating and maintaining Chocolatey packages and repositories.
Good understanding of Windows Installer architecture and related troubleshooting.
Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and endpoint management.
Ability to follow enterprise packaging and security standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
Good communication, coordination, and presentation skills.
Comfortable monitoring issues through to closure and escalating when needed.

Preferred exposure

Familiarity with Chocolatey Central Management.
Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop or VDI environments.
Working knowledge of ITIL processes such as incident, change, and problem management.

Qualification requirements

15 years of full-time education is required.
A minimum of 50% marks is expected in 10th, 12th, undergraduate, and postgraduate studies, wherever applicable.
