Role Overview
This Singapore-based position is framed as an entrepreneurial co-founder-style opportunity rather than a traditional employee role. The organization is looking for a seasoned professional who wants to build something sustainable, purposeful, and personally guided. In time, the Associate General Manager is expected to grow into the full General Manager role for the Singapore branch.
Working closely with the founder and benefiting from mentorship, the successful candidate will help shape strategic business alliances, partnerships, and collaborations that support the company’s mission. The role involves building partner relationships, supporting business planning, driving client acquisition channels, representing the company in discussions, and overseeing partnership-related projects to ensure they align with company objectives.
Responsibilities
- Identify potential partners and build strong, long-term business relationships.
- Develop and execute strategic partnership and alliance plans.
- Support client acquisition efforts through relevant distribution channels.
- Represent the company in meetings and discussions with partners and stakeholders.
- Help create actionable business plans and initiatives.
- Coordinate and oversee the delivery of partnership and business projects.
- Work with internal and external teams to ensure goals are met.
- Contribute strategic ideas that support growth and organizational direction.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of corporate executive experience in business development and corporate marketing.
- Background in one or more global industries such as banking and financial services, logistics, hospitality, or airlines.
- Must be based in Singapore.
- Genuine interest in Africa, along with exposure to the continent.
- Experience in an APAC-focused organization is preferred.
- Demonstrated corporate maturity and a self-directed working style.
- Strong understanding of ASEAN economic and social dynamics.
- Prior exposure to business markets in ASEAN, including Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
- Proven capability in strategic alliances, business alliances, and partnership development.
- Ability to translate strategy into practical business initiatives.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and people skills.
- Comfortable managing projects and collaborating across multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Experience in destination management, tourism, or a related industry is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Africa and prior travel to South Africa will be considered a plus.
