About the Role

Compass Healthcare, through Morrison Healthcare, is hiring full-time Bakers for Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Alabama. This position supports food service operations by preparing baked items that meet recipe, production, quality, and presentation standards. The role is based onsite at 750 Morphy Avenue, Fairhope, AL 36532, and applications are accepted online only.

Schedule

This is a full-time opening with open availability preferred. Workdays and hours can change depending on operational needs, and the exact schedule will be discussed during the interview.

Pay

The hourly pay for this role ranges from $15.00 to $18.00.

What You’ll Do

You will prepare baked goods for patient, dining, and catering needs while supporting daily production requirements. The job calls for attention to food quality, sanitation, safe handling, and consistent service standards.

• Prepare breads, pies, cakes, cookies, pastries, and other baked items based on production and catering sheets.
• Help plan production so daily demand is met efficiently.
• Follow approved recipes, production standards, and proper equipment usage to ensure food is prepared correctly.
• Track production records, including waste, portions used or left over, and shortages, and notify supervision when inventory is running low.
• Maintain quality, portion consistency, proper presentation, and correct holding temperatures.
• Keep all tools, utensils, supplies, and work areas clean, sanitary, and organized.
• Handle ingredients and finished items safely in line with food safety requirements.
• Clean equipment and the workstation thoroughly before moving on to other assignments.
• Keep display equipment clean and clear of debris.
• Support customers in a courteous, service-focused manner and escalate complaints or concerns to a supervisor.
• Stay calm and efficient during busy periods while maintaining accuracy and production pace.
• Ensure food is displayed, served, and presented according to standards.
• Follow all sanitation, safety, company, and OSHA-related procedures when working with food and equipment.
• Complete assigned shift tasks promptly and thoroughly.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
