About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join a long-standing and well-regarded accountancy practice in County Mayo. The firm supports a wide range of SME clients across sectors such as manufacturing, hospitality, healthcare, agriculture, and other growing industries. As the practice expands, this role offers the chance to become part of a collaborative and welcoming team.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate bookkeeping and financial records for a diverse SME client portfolio.
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
• Carry out bank reconciliations and prepare VAT returns.
• Support the preparation of management accounts.
• Assist clients with cloud-based accounting tools and routine finance-related queries.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will already have bookkeeping experience, preferably gained in an accountancy practice or within an SME environment. Part-qualified accountant status or a similar qualification would be an advantage. The role also calls for excellent attention to detail, strong organisational ability, and familiarity with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks. A professional, service-oriented mindset is essential.
