Role Overview
This is an interview-based opening for a driver to handle package pickup and delivery along a designated route. The role focuses on making sure shipments meet Federal Express Canada service standards while also delivering prompt, professional customer support.
What You Will Do
- Collect and deliver parcels efficiently and courteously on an assigned route.
- Verify that each shipment complies with Federal Express Canada service requirements.
- Provide customer service support related to deliveries and pickups.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma or an equivalent credential is required.
- A valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record is mandatory.
- You must be able to lift up to 70 lbs and move packages as heavy as 150 lbs using the proper equipment.
- At least 1 year of customer-focused business experience is preferred.
- You need to pass the required pre-placement driver assessment training with the minimum required score.
- Prior knowledge of Federal Express Canada operations and Canadian customs rules is considered an advantage.
- Strong communication and people skills are important.
- You should be organised, manage time well, and be able to multitask.
- Excellent customer service capability is expected.
- The work environment can be high pressure, so resilience and stress management are necessary.
- You must be prepared to work varied schedules and holidays depending on business needs.
- The position is based in Val Dor, and candidates must be from the area and live there.
- Bilingual ability in French and English is required.
Working Conditions and Additional Details
- This is a full-time role with a Monday to Friday schedule.
- The shift begins at 7:15 AM.
- Applicants must be willing to complete any additional tasks assigned as part of the job.
- Employees are expected to meet minimum scores for mandatory testing and training.
- The role involves working in a Windows-based environment.
- Periodic training must be completed successfully, and any annual accreditations must be kept current where applicable.
- Work may involve different shifts based on operational requirements.
- For positions where driving is a core duty, candidates must hold a valid licence such as class 5, G, or 1[AZ].
- The driving record must show no more than two infractions and/or accidents in the 24 months before applying.
- Selection also depends on the annual driving record review, interview performance, and driving assessment results.
