Role Summary
The Chef de Partie will play an important part in the culinary team by handling assigned kitchen responsibilities accurately, working closely with other team members, and helping maintain a smooth, productive, and positive kitchen atmosphere.
Key Duties
- Take charge of the designated section of the kitchen and support any other culinary tasks requested from time to time by the Sous Chef or Junior Sous Chef.
- Prepare, portion, monitor temperatures, and plate dishes according to the required cooking methods, presentation standards, and portion sizes.
- Check incoming food items needed for the menu to confirm that both quality and quantity meet the expected specifications.
- Ensure food preparation is completed promptly and follows the correct recipes and production standards.
- Maintain high standards of guest satisfaction through consistent food quality.
- Use ingredients carefully and work continuously to reduce waste.
- Complete all tasks listed for the shift, along with any additional duties assigned by the Sous Chef or Junior Sous Chef.
- Follow and help uphold strict hygiene, food safety, and kitchen sanitation standards to keep the workspace clean and well organized.
Qualifications
Applicants should have at least a higher secondary education or an equivalent qualification. A professional kitchen apprenticeship or chef training program is preferred, along with prior experience in reputable kitchens and strong culinary ability. The ideal candidate has 1 to 2 years of experience in the same role, or around 2 years of experience as a Demi Chef in a similar setting. Good knowledge of food safety and HACCP is required. Experience in a Turkish buffet restaurant is considered an advantage.
