About the Role

Huhtamaki is a global supplier of sustainable packaging solutions, focused on creating packaging that can be recycled, reused, or composted. The company supports the safety and hygiene of food and beverages worldwide and is looking for someone who can contribute to that mission from the factory floor in Marion, Indiana.

This position is part of a team-driven environment where people across production and office functions work together to support customers and keep operations running smoothly. The role is aimed at helping maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized workplace.

Key Duties

• Oversee trash removal and cleanliness across all plant areas, including production spaces, break rooms, smoking areas, storage zones, and offices.
• Track cleaning materials and keep supply inventory at appropriate levels.
• Use only approved cleaning products and tools.
• Work according to established cleaning procedures and suggest ways to improve them.
• Check for signs of vandalism, unauthorized access, and unsafe or unusual situations, then report findings promptly.
• Clean restrooms thoroughly, including floors, walls, fixtures, appliances, and mirrors, and replenish supplies as needed.
• Clean walkways and eating areas, maintain drinking fountains, and handle urgent cleanup needs.
• Carry out emergency cleanup work in line with AIB standards and company rules, ensuring it is done accurately and on time.
• Help train third-party vendors on expected standards and requirements.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.
• Prior industrial cleaning experience in a food-contact or food-manufacturing setting is required.
• Strong reading, writing, and verbal communication skills are needed, along with the ability to understand and follow instructions.
• The job requires near and far vision acuity and the ability to communicate effectively with others.
• The work involves standing, stooping, kneeling, twisting, bending, reaching, and pulling for shifts lasting more than 8 hours.
• You must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds during the day.
• Work takes place in a production or warehouse environment with noise and moving equipment.
