Electrical Quantity Surveyor / Junior Quantity Surveyor

Role overview

A leading Irish electrical contractor is looking to strengthen its commercial team with an Electrical Quantity Surveyor and a Junior Quantity Surveyor. The positions will support major data centre projects across Germany and the Netherlands, with the site base in Frankfurt, Germany or the Netherlands. This is an opportunity to join a growing company working on mission-critical construction projects throughout Europe.

Rotation patterns for this role are 17:4 or 3:1.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Commercial Manager and wider project team with day-to-day commercial and contractual tasks.
• Contribute to cost planning, budgeting, valuations, and commercial reporting.
• Help with forecasting, cost monitoring, and overall financial control of projects.
• Assist in managing subcontract packages, payment claims, and final account preparation.
• Prepare and track variations, re-measurements, and commercial submissions.
• Monitor spend against budgets and maintain cash flow forecasts.
• Carry out quantity take-offs and site measurements as needed.
• Work with Procurement, Finance, Suppliers, and Project Teams to close out commercial queries.
• Support value engineering efforts and identify ways to improve efficiency and lower project costs.
• Help produce monthly reports, including accruals, forecasts, and commercial project updates.

Requirements

• A degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a closely related field.
• For Junior QS roles, 1 to 2 years of experience in construction, electrical, or M&E projects is required.
• For Electrical QS roles, at least 3 years of experience in construction, electrical, or M&E projects is required.
• Experience with commercial management, estimating, or cost control software would be beneficial.
• Previous exposure to data centre projects is useful, though not mandatory.
