Role Overview
This remote position is for a financial software engineer working on a large-scale platform for a client. The assignment focuses on building and supporting systems that power financial operations, with an emphasis on distributed architecture, data flow reliability, and real-time processing. The work is remote and can be done from anywhere.
Compensation is competitive and will be determined according to experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, enhance, and roll out microservices used for processing financial transactions.
- Improve system throughput and responsiveness for fast-moving, high-volume data streams.
- Introduce security controls and compliance validations for sensitive financial information.
- Work with different teams to connect payment gateways and API-based services.
- Keep an eye on platform stability and troubleshoot production incidents in a round-the-clock operating environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong programming ability in Python, Java, or Go, ideally applied in financial software environments.
- Hands-on experience creating scalable backend systems with REST APIs or gRPC.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, concurrent processing, and resilience patterns such as fault tolerance.
- Familiarity with financial messaging or payment standards such as ISO 20022, SWIFT, or real-time payment rails.
- Exposure to cloud services including AWS, GCP, or Azure, along with infrastructure-as-code tooling.
