Floor Care Associate

Role Overview

This role is responsible for keeping the store environment clean, sanitary, and presentable. The position supports customer trust and repeat business by helping maintain consistent store standards and a safe shopping experience. Key Duties

• Maintain clean and orderly sales floors, liquor store areas, offices, break rooms, backrooms, training rooms, and restrooms, while reducing safety hazards.
• Use floor-care machinery, department tools, and cleaning chemicals appropriately to complete cleaning tasks.
• Sweep or vacuum mats and rugs and return them to their proper place afterward.
• Remove carpet spots, handle trash disposal, and carry out deep-cleaning tasks in restrooms.
• Create a welcoming environment that helps customers feel valued and supported, including assisting them with finding or suggesting products.
• Help ensure daily store conditions meet company expectations for cleanliness and sanitation.
• Follow company standards for food safety, sanitation, productivity, and overall safety practices.
• Comply with applicable regulations related to food safety, USDA requirements, Country of Origin Labeling, and Department of Agriculture rules.
• Carry out product recalls and withdrawals quickly, making sure affected items are secured and kept away from customers.
• Watch for unsafe conditions, report hazards to management, and notify leadership about customer or employee accidents.
• Report safety concerns, illegal activity, theft, fraud, or robbery incidents as required.
• Follow wage-and-hour policies and help build a strong safety culture in the store.
• Ensure proper safety training is in place, hazard assessments are available for reference, and required protective equipment is used.
• Confirm equipment remains in good working order and help report or address safety issues, including lockout/tagout-related situations when needed.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, and English is the preferred language. The role requires 0 to 3 years of relevant experience. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, be authorized to work in the United States or able to obtain such authorization, and pass pre-employment drug testing and a background check. Strong customer service ability, along with excellent interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills, is expected.

Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding retail role. Work involves standing and walking on different floor surfaces, using hands repeatedly, reaching overhead or at waist level, lifting, carrying, pushing, and other repetitive movement. The position may also require sitting, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing up to 30 feet. Work may take place indoors or outdoors and in cold, freezing, heated, or wet and humid environments. Risks can include slippery or cluttered floors, hazardous equipment, sharp objects, loud noise, skin irritants, dust, fumes, sprays, hazardous cleaning products, and other toxins. Required equipment may include cleaning tools and supplies, general office tools, a register, pricing gun, scales, scanner, and material-handling equipment such as racks, carts, pallet jacks, and shopping carts. Preferred equipment includes a baler/compactor and box cutter. Personal protective equipment may include goggles, gloves, and a back brace. The pulling requirement is 250 lbs, and the lifting requirement is 50 lbs.

Schedule and Travel

Work is scheduled across varied shifts. Travel is occasional, and overnight travel is not required.
