Project Overview
This contract is for an animator to help develop a colorful, educational pilot episode for a new YouTube series based on a children’s coloring book. The story follows Kid Killebrew, a pupil whose school success unlocks magical sneakers that gradually give him new abilities. The series is designed to encourage young audiences with messages about learning, accountability, and community, all told through playful animation and lively visuals.
The pilot is expected to run for 1–2 minutes, and there is potential for the work to continue as a weekly episodic series. The ideal freelancer is someone who enjoys making content for children and can keep a consistent, appealing 2D cartoon look throughout the project.
Key Deliverables
- Animate characters and scenes in a 2D cartoon style appropriate for children and family audiences.
- Design simple, bright backgrounds that support the story and character animation.
- Sync character mouth movements with dialogue and incorporate voice performances into the animation.
- Add sound effects and visual effects that strengthen the storytelling and viewer experience.
- Maintain a consistent visual identity and animation style across the pilot and any future episodes.
- Work from provided character artwork, episode outlines, and brand assets.
- Deliver a finished 1–2 minute pilot episode suitable for publishing on YouTube.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience creating 2D animation, ideally for children’s or family-oriented projects.
- Working knowledge of tools such as Adobe Animate, Toon Boom Harmony, or comparable animation software.
- Strong capability in character movement, lip-sync work, and visual storytelling.
- Ability to build clean, engaging backgrounds and layer in audio/visual effects.
- Careful attention to detail and a strong commitment to keeping the animation style consistent.
- Good communication skills and comfort collaborating with supplied creative materials and direction.
- A portfolio showing relevant animation samples.
- Availability for possible ongoing weekly collaboration on the series.
