Hostess

About the Role

This position sits within the Food & Beverage team at a luxury hotel in Abu Dhabi. You will work closely with the Restaurant Manager and Team Leader, coordinating with service colleagues to ensure the dining room runs smoothly and guests enjoy a polished, memorable experience.

Your Contribution

As the first and last point of contact for restaurant guests, you will help shape the overall impression of the venue. Your responsibilities include welcoming diners, handling reservations, supporting the flow of seating, and helping maintain service quality throughout each shift. You will also serve as an important link between guests and the service team, helping anticipate needs and support personalised service delivery. When managers or team leaders are unavailable, you may be expected to oversee restaurant operations and ensure standards remain consistent.

Key Duties

• Greet guests warmly, escort them to their tables, and set the tone for a positive experience from the moment they arrive.
• Coordinate reservations, manage guest arrivals, and organise seating to keep service flowing efficiently.
• Stay alert to guest preferences and respond quickly to provide attentive, tailored service.
• Relay VIP arrivals and any special requests to the wider team so service can be delivered smoothly.
• Keep the hostess station and restaurant area clean, neat, and well organised at all times.
• Help monitor service standards and step in where required to maintain consistency and quality.

Experience and Skills Needed

You should ideally have at least 6 months of experience in a comparable position, preferably within a luxury or upscale restaurant setting. The role calls for someone who is personable, composed under pressure, highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work well in a team. Strong communication skills, confidence in handling guest concerns, and fluency in English are important; additional languages will be an advantage.
