Hotel Cleanliness Supervisor

Role Overview

This position is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness and presentation of guest rooms and public areas after housekeepers have completed cleaning. The role also supports housekeeping leadership in keeping daily operations organized and on track.

Key Duties

• Check guest rooms, public areas, pool areas, and other spaces to confirm they meet quality standards.
• Review sold-room reports, verify room conditions, identify mismatches in room status, and prioritize cleaning for departure rooms.
• Support housekeeping management with day-to-day operations.
• Serve as a point of coordination between Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry teams.
• Record and resolve room-status discrepancies with the Front Desk.
• Prepare, share, and communicate updates to room assignments.
• Pass important information to the next shift and complete required paperwork.

Supervisory and Team Support

• Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating team members.
• Coach employees and help maintain a productive, service-focused work environment.

Standards and Compliance

• Follow company policies, safety rules, and security procedures at all times.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries promptly.
• Complete required safety training and certifications.
• Maintain a neat, professional appearance and uphold confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Protect company property and assets.
• Deliver courteous, standards-based guest service and respond to guest needs with care and professionalism.
• Communicate clearly, build positive working relationships, and respond appropriately to coworkers’ concerns.
• Work in line with established quality expectations and brand standards.

Physical and Technical Requirements

• Be able to move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing up to 55 pounds without assistance, and more than 55 pounds with assistance.
• Push and pull loaded housekeeping carts and related equipment across uneven or sloped surfaces.
• Reach overhead and below knee level, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Stand, sit, kneel, or walk for long periods during the full shift.
• Handle objects of different sizes and weights with good coordination and fine motor control.
• Use computers and/or point-of-sale systems to enter and retrieve work-related information.
• Read and verify information in different formats, including small print.
