Role Overview
An expanding organization is looking for a detail-focused Human Resources Assistant to support a people-centered, professional, and inclusive workplace. This position is a hands-on HR support role that contributes to the efficient running of the department by helping with recruitment, onboarding, employee support, record keeping, compliance, and internal communication. It is well suited to someone who enjoys working with people, stays highly organized, and understands the importance of accurate and confidential HR administration.
Recruitment and Hiring Support
- Help drive hiring activity by sharing job ads, reviewing applications, and arranging interviews.
- Coordinate interview schedules and keep candidates informed during each stage of the process.
- Draft offer letters, employment agreements, and onboarding paperwork.
- Keep recruitment files organized and update applicant tracking records.
Onboarding and Employee Administration
- Organize orientation sessions and new starter onboarding activities.
- Set up employee personnel files and confirm that required documents are completed and stored correctly.
- Respond to routine employee questions and HR-related requests.
- Maintain up-to-date employee databases, records, and filing systems.
HR Operations and Compliance
- Ensure personnel records remain accurate, current, and aligned with company rules and legal obligations.
- Support the monitoring of HR procedures and compliance standards.
- Assist in producing HR reports, data summaries, and supporting documentation.
- Contribute to the administration of employee policies, handbooks, and workplace procedures.
Employee Engagement and Support
- Assist with engagement initiatives, staff training activities, and company events.
- Support the administration of performance reviews and development-related activities.
- Help coordinate internal updates and communications for HR programs and announcements.
- Build positive working relationships with employees across the business.
General Administrative Support
- Manage HR emails, calendars, and meeting arrangements.
- Prepare documents, presentations, and other HR-related materials.
- Organize and safeguard confidential personnel information.
- Provide administrative assistance to the HR Manager and leadership team as needed.
Qualifications
- Completion of high school, or an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
- Strong ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks at once.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and maintain confidentiality.
- Careful attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
