Junior BI Developer / Data Visualisation Analyst

About the Role

Michael James Associates is seeking a Junior BI Developer / Data Visualisation Analyst to join the Data & Analytics team of a leading international insurance group in Munich, Germany. This role is perfect for individuals transitioning from IT Support, Application Support, Reporting, or similar technical backgrounds who are eager to advance into Business Intelligence and data analysis. The core focus will be on creating reports, dashboards, and data-driven solutions using modern Microsoft technologies. You will collaborate closely with business units in Germany and the UK to empower data-informed decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance dashboards and reports using Power BI.
• Analyze, prepare, and visualize company data.
• Utilize SQL for data extraction and analysis.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the BI and reporting infrastructure.
• Participate in automation and data projects, potentially using Python.
• Collaborate with international stakeholders and business departments.
• Ensure high data quality and deliver meaningful insights.

Requirements

• Possess initial professional experience in IT Support, Application Support, Service Desk, Reporting, or a comparable technical field.
• Demonstrate a strong interest in data analysis, Business Intelligence, and reporting.
• Have experience with SQL or relational databases.
• Familiarity with Power BI or other reporting tools is advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of Python is beneficial but not essential.
• Exhibit an analytical mindset and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in both written and spoken German and English is required.
