Kitchen Helper

Role overview

A&W Food Services of Canada Inc. is hiring a kitchen helper to support day-to-day food preparation, cleaning, and front-of-house tasks at its Clarenville, Newfoundland and Labrador location. This is a permanent full-time role with English as the workplace language.

Education

No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this position.

Key duties

• Clean and disinfect dishwasher mats, carts, and waste disposal units.
• Clear tables, trays, and chairs and keep them tidy.
• Put dishes away in the proper storage area.
• Wash dishes and other items by hand and sanitize them thoroughly.
• Package food for take-out orders.
• Portion, wrap, and prepare food items as needed.
• Heat, finish, and assemble simple menu items.
• Restock refrigerators and salad bars.
• Take customer orders.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage spaces, appliances, and equipment.
• Store and handle cleaning products safely.
• Receive supplies, unpack them, and place them in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
• Remove garbage and kitchen waste.
• Sharpen kitchen knives.
• Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors.
• Wash, peel, and cut fruits and vegetables.

Experience

Training will be provided on the job.

Youth support

Working hours

The schedule is 30 to 35 hours per week.
