The Ardilaun Hotel is looking for a dependable Kitchen Porter to support its active kitchen operation. This position is important to the day-to-day running of the kitchen and to helping chefs and other kitchen staff keep service moving smoothly.

Set in Taylor's Hill in Galway, the 4-star Ardilaun Hotel is a former country mansion with 123 luxury bedrooms, conference facilities, a wedding venue, and a leisure club. The hotel is independently owned and run by the Ryan family, and it has been in business for 64 years. It sits in a quiet suburban location about 1 km from Galway City, Galway Bay, and Salthill. On site, guests can enjoy Camilaun Restaurant, the Garden Terrace for outdoor dining, Blazers Bar, The Ardilaun Bistro, and spacious Garden Lounges for afternoon tea. The hotel’s aim is to deliver memorable guest experiences and consistently go beyond expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Keep the kitchen tidy and well-organised by washing dishes, utensils, and equipment.
• Assist with preparing and replenishing food items as instructed by the chef.
• Clean kitchen machinery, appliances, and work surfaces to a high standard.
• Work in line with all health and safety procedures.
• Support the team with daily cleaning duties and end-of-shift closing tasks.
• Take on additional tasks as directed by the chef or kitchen leadership.

Requirements

• Some prior experience in a kitchen environment.
• Comfortable working in a busy, fast-moving setting.
• Able to follow direction and contribute effectively as part of a team.
• Willingness to work a flexible rota, including evenings and weekends.
