About EWEC

Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC) serves as Abu Dhabi’s exclusive purchaser and provider of water and electricity. The company handles planning, forecasting, procurement, and system dispatch for water and electricity, balancing bulk supply and demand for distribution companies and authorities across Abu Dhabi and other emirates.

EWEC supports the Government of Abu Dhabi and the Government of the UAE by helping lower costs while improving supply security through a cleaner, larger, and more integrated system.

The organisation is responsible for delivering strategic initiatives that support the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy’s Clean Energy Strategic Target 2035, the UAE Water Security Strategy 2036, the UAE Energy Strategy 2050, and the UAE Net Zero by 2050 initiative. It is advancing the energy transition in Abu Dhabi and the UAE by expanding renewable and clean energy solutions, along with low-carbon desalination capacity. EWEC is part of ADQ, one of the region’s major holding companies with investments across key sectors of Abu Dhabi’s economy.

In addition, the Lead will support the planning and delivery of advocacy for non-standard tariff initiatives aligned with EWEC’s strategy and act as a key business partner for both internal and external stakeholders.
