Role Summary

This full-time, on-site position in Abuja is for a Linesman responsible for building, repairing, and maintaining high-voltage transmission lines and connected infrastructure. The role involves installing and checking power line systems, working at height, managing electrical and fiber-optic cables, and consistently following safety procedures. The position also requires close coordination with engineers and project teams to complete work on time and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out construction, repair, and maintenance work on high-voltage transmission lines and related assets.
• Install, inspect, and service power line systems and associated components.
• Work safely at heights and in demanding site conditions.
• Handle electrical and fiber-optic cabling, including OPGW-related work.
• Follow safety rules and operational procedures at all times.
• Coordinate with engineers and project teams to support delivery schedules and quality requirements.

Qualifications

• Hands-on ability in power line construction, installation, and repair.
• Comfort working with high-voltage tools and equipment while observing strict safety practices.
• Experience with OPGW installation and upkeep.
• SCADA system knowledge is considered an added advantage.
• Good physical condition for height work and challenging environments.
• Ability to read technical drawings and work from project instructions.
• Strong collaboration skills and a practical approach to solving problems.
• Relevant certification or vocational training in electrical engineering or a similar field.
• Previous exposure to high-voltage transmission work is preferred.
