Logistics Coordinator, Semi

Role overview

Tesla is hiring a Logistics Coordinator to support the Tesla Semi program. This position is based onsite in Sparks, Nevada and includes some travel, approximately 10% to 15% of the time. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, comfortable navigating fast-moving situations, able to solve problems quickly, and capable of coordinating large-scale logistics activities across internal teams and supply chain partners.

Success in this role requires a self-driven approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across functions within Tesla and with external stakeholders.

Core duties

• Coordinate, schedule, execute, and monitor logistics movements for Semi vehicles, test assemblies, and support equipment, including trailers.
• Build and sustain cooperative working relationships with internal teams and outside partners involved in engineering and prototype Semi movement.
• Serve as the point of contact between local engineering, development, and testing groups by arranging vehicle moves, technician support, and service activities for prototype and partial Tesla Semi units using Tesla’s internal systems.
• Work with local stakeholder groups to identify logistics issues, reduce delays, and improve early vehicle utilization and value.
• Address concerns raised by engineering and other teams while maintaining a high standard of service for internal customers.
• Design logistics plans for customer demonstration events and coordinate related events in support of commercial teams.
• Arrange prototype driver training to meet engineering test requirements.
• Anticipate fleet requirements and vehicle movements while minimizing equipment downtime.

Skills and experience needed

The role calls for 5 to 7 years of supply chain experience and demonstrated strong capability in similar work. Candidates should be proficient with computers, especially Excel and database tools, and able to manage several projects at once without losing focus on detail. Familiarity with freight equipment, carriers, and transportation workflows is important, along with working knowledge of DOT rules such as hours of service, load limits, and oversize permitting. Experience with Tesla’s TMS and related ad hoc systems is a plus. Technical familiarity with Class 8 trucks is also beneficial, and knowledge of Geotab and Tesla Garage would be an advantage.

This position may require working extended hours and weekends depending on business demand.
