Material Planner

Role overview

The Material Planner is responsible for making sure the right starting materials are available so the production plan can run as scheduled. This role works closely with supply planning and warehouse teams to manage material readiness, monitor usage, and support planning decisions across the production horizon.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure that all required starting materials are in place to support the production schedule.
• Support the Supply Planner by checking the feasibility of raw materials and packaging materials.
• Coordinate with the warehouse on detailed material planning, including call-offs and visibility of incoming supplies.
• Serve as the main contact for material coverage across the long-term production planning horizon.
• Monitor planned versus actual material consumption against standard norms and carry out root cause analysis when needed.
• Plan the use of materials that are close to expiry or already expired so that stock is reduced appropriately.
• Work with the Supply Planner to plan innovation and project-related material orders in line with network and project alignment requirements.

Job requirements

• A degree in a field related to Business Management is required.
• Strong analytical ability and communication skills are essential.
• Must be fluent in both English and Myanmar.
• Should have proven experience in operational planning.
• Good understanding of production processes and material planning is needed.
• Advanced Excel skills are mandatory.
• Must be able to communicate clearly and with the right context in Myanmar and English across different stakeholder levels.
