Role overview
This position is for an MEP Coordinator supporting a new-build healthcare facility project in Wexford, Ireland. The role covers the coordination of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and specialist services throughout the project lifecycle.
You will be expected to oversee design coordination, on-site delivery, quality control, commissioning support, and communication with project stakeholders to help deliver building services to the required programme, budget, and healthcare standards.
Key responsibilities
- Manage coordination of MEP design and installation across all stages of the project.
- Examine drawings, specifications, and BIM models to detect and close out clashes.
- Work closely with consultants, subcontractors, and site teams to keep delivery running efficiently.
- Track MEP installation progress to confirm alignment with design intent, quality expectations, safety standards, and schedule targets.
- Handle RFIs, technical submittals, and design revisions.
- Assist with testing, commissioning, validation, and final handover processes.
- Ensure MEP systems meet Irish regulatory requirements and the standards expected for healthcare projects.
Requirements
- A degree, diploma, or trade background in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in MEP coordination.
- Previous exposure to healthcare, commercial, or other large-scale construction projects.
- Working knowledge of BIM tools and coordination workflows, including Revit and Navisworks.
- Strong interpersonal, planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
