About the opportunity
MBIE is offering a fixed-term Product Analyst role within its P&C Systems team in Wellington. This position supports delivery of the P&C product roadmap and offers room to grow your capability in a broad, development-focused environment. Flexible working arrangements may be considered, and the assignment runs until March 2027.
What the role involves
You will support the rollout of improvements and releases for both existing and newly introduced P&C products. The role also includes contributing to testing and change management so that products are validated properly before moving into production. In addition, you will look into issues, help identify remedies, and maintain accurate documentation so changes to products are clearly recorded.
The P&C Systems team is working toward becoming a highly effective function valued by its stakeholders. Your contribution will help deliver durable outcomes that create genuine value for the business.
What success looks like
To succeed in this role, you will need strong stakeholder and relationship management skills, sound judgement for spotting risks and issues, and a collaborative style that works well in a busy team. A curious mindset, logical thinking, and the ability to research effectively are also important. You should be comfortable sharing knowledge, welcoming new approaches, and helping the wider P&C branch achieve its goals.
Skills and experience
This opportunity suits someone with a background in systems administration who wants to deepen their technical understanding of HRIS platforms.
- Good understanding of what the D365 platform and SAP SuccessFactors can do
- At least 2 years of experience configuring and administering Microsoft Dynamics 365 or SAP SuccessFactors
- D365 certifications are an advantage
- Broad hands-on experience with SAP SuccessFactors products is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of system testing, including SIT, PPT, and UAT
- Ability to recognise and manage risks consistently
- Capability to analyse, explain, and communicate issues, as well as interpret analysis and advice from others
- Strong customer service orientation and the ability to perform under pressure and within tight deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, including the ability to build trust quickly and influence or negotiate at all levels
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Legal right to live and work in New Zealand
